Day two was an exercise in flexibility and adaptability. I have kids so that makes me an expert!
What was interesting for me – and it made restorative yoga the perfect first activity – was how I felt all day long and through the yoga class. I was having a really hard time staying in the moment the whole day. I was constantly thinking about this blog and writing in my mind. Even in the yoga class it was like I was outside myself, observing myself, not as an out-of-body experience but for the purpose of writing about it.

What I had wanted (and continue to want) was to do the activity, feel the experience of it and then reflect on it. But that was very difficult. Thankfully I did realize my wandering mind very early in the day, while at the park.
I found myself putting a meditation technique into practice, but instead of bringing my awareness back to my breathing, I was bringing my awareness back to the moment.
The whole point of this little project is not only to feel my core desired feelings, but also to enjoy the simple things in life and be present for my kids and myself. Live my best life or be my best self or whatever it is that Oprah used to say.
