I Never Met a Trampoline I Didn't Like

Just like when I was a kid, my kids love to jump on a trampoline. We have a small one in our living room and there's this very cool place, Sky Zone, that has a lot of trampolines, a strip of trampoline leading up to a basketball net and a pit of foam cubes that you can jump in from - you guessed it - trampolines.
Aerobics on a Trampoline?
Sky Zone also has trampoline exercise classes for adults, which they call "SkyRobics." So this evening, at 7:00 pm, I went with my BF to my first trampoline aerobics class.
We were both really excited. I grew up with a big trampoline in my backyard so I was ready to do some serious jumping.

The Warm-Up!
I was not disappointed, for the first 15 minutes that is. I was also not able to breathe very well. Did you know that jumping up and down on a trampoline is really hard? I mean it's really really hard.
After about 10 minutes, OK maybe it was 2, I looked at my BF, and beneath my red, sweaty face, I think she could read my look, which was trying to say "um, what the hell did we get ourselves into?" She looked pretty red and sweaty herself and she giggled, so I think she got my message. We've been friends since we were babies so she can probably read my facial expressions pretty well by now.
After our "warm up" (said the cruel cruel teacher) of jumping really high and doing various things with our legs - tucking them in, scissoring them open, touching our toes etc. - we took a water break. I looked at the clock and was very disappointed to see that only 15 minutes had passed.

Trampoline Aerobics
We then moved on to the more aerobics-ey part of the class - doing pretty typical bootcamp-type stuff - burpies, plank, jumping jacks, mountain climber etc. but it was WAY WAY harder because it was on a trampoline. So I'm saying it was WAY WAY harder than bootcamp classes. I know because I've taken them from an actual drill sergeant and this was WAY WAY harder.
I can't say I liked the aerobics-ey part much. It was just too hard - especially on my shoulders, which already have something against me. So they're not going to be thanking me tomorrow that's for damn sure.
Near the end of the aerobics-ey part, my BF and I were at the back of the class. During one of yet another shoulder-heavy exercise, we rebelled and decided we wouldn't do it. I suggested we pretend to do the exercise, without actually doing it. We started our pretend movements and she said encouragingly "Great work there, great work." I stifled a giggle and said "And you're doing a wonderful job there." It was not possible to stifle the giggles that were mostly directed at our silly selves.

Are We Done Yet?
At the end of the class, we got back to the more jumpy part, which I much preferred, even if my face got all red and sweaty again.
With this level of intensity, on a trampoline, in special trampoline non-skid socks, it's not a matter of if you get injured - it's a matter of when. So, even though I enjoyed it, this was my first Skyrobics class and my last.
