The green and white pen I'm using says, "Verdant Fields Nudist Camp / Get in touch with your OUTER self! / Enjoy ping pong, volleyball, & our famous bottomless buffet / www.buffisbeautiful.com." (Bottomless buffet tehehe)
I also brought a book of poems from around the world, given to me by my amazing sister – Life Prayers from around the World: 365 Prayers, Blessings and Affirmations to Celebrate the Human Journey. It is perhaps a little more religious or spiritual than I currently am, but I'm finding many of the poems are really resonating with me.
This is the poem I read today:
Empower me
To be a bold participant,
rather than a timid saint in waiting,
in the difficult ordinariness of now;
to exercise the authority of honesty;
rather than to defer to power,
or deceive to get it;
to influence someone for justice,
rather than impress anyone for gain;
and, by grace, to find treasures
of joy, of friendship, of peace
hidden in the fields of the daily
you give me to plow.
– Ted Loder
So here I am trying to be a bold participant. Telling you about the things I brought with me today as a way of telling you about me and what's important to me.
I'm nervous about putting this blog live today. But expressing myself, putting myself out there and being bold is the long-overdue fulfillment of a promise I made to myself. So that's why this is my bold activity for day 1. Here I go.
And publish.
Oh - before I publish, just wanted to say that please leave a comment. I'd love to hear from you.
And publish.
