Since I turned 40 and finished my initial blog, people keep asking what I learned during the course of the project. I feel like I learned, or started to learn, several things.
The thing that surprised me the most was that I was able to do it. I was able to find the time to do the activity and then write about it every day for 40 days. I did fall behind publishing the posts on the last couple of weekends, but, for the most part, I published the post before midnight each night.

Time was on my side
Now I feel like I'm wasting my time in the evening - watching TV and other mundane things. I should say that by the end of the 40 days I did need a break. It was a lot and I did feel tired and a bit overwhelmed some of the time. But most of the time, I felt energized before, during and after each activity.
Since I turned 40, I seemed to quickly forget this little lesson. Life got busy - work started picking up and both my kids started full-day school. That first month of school felt like a blur of lunches and adjusting - and I'm talking about me here. Although I'm sure it's true of the kids as well.
Sometimes I feel like learning a lesson once isn't enough. Like I need to learn the same lesson multiple times for it to stick. Or at least, that's what I'm hoping.
